Keep them in a folder until you either convert them using Fuji's RAW converter or until someone else has a converter you want to use. It's annoying that the controls in LR are on the right rather than the left though - I keep looking at the wrong part of the screen, having been using Aperture since it was released.
Aperture is very slow to adopt new cameras. The X Pro has been out for at least half a year now if not longer, and I am surprised that there is still no sign of progress on this front. Sep 20, PM. You're right. The day after I posted that response a friend of mine corrected me: with Lightroom 4.
I actually do have Lightroom 3, but prefer Aperture for its work flow. It's a personal choice; LR is a great program. I just choose something else. There's even an RPP plug in for Lightroom 4. The program is donation-ware so you might want to test it out and compare results for free. I would be curious to see what you think. There's a learning curve and the interface is not very elegant, but I love the results. These files combined with the newest firmware update this week has made the X-Pro1 one of my favorite cameras.
Thanks for the correction. I do agree that Aperture is slow to adopt new cameras and it's really frustrating. Took them far too long to come out with a Nikon D converter. My ideal would be the Aperture workflow combined with the adaptability of Adobe. I'm trying to sort out the mess that Apple has made of Aperture with the latest 'upgrade' - now it won't open and as a working professional, I need access to work done for clients!!
Sorry to hear that. I am a photographer, not a software expert. Aperture has been working very well for me in Mtn Lion. Some quirks -as always- but a step forward for the most part. Focussing speed certainly is adequate and again, I don't see a difference in speed compared to the X-E2. It does take a little longer for the X-Pro 1 to write the file to the SD card.
Since both cameras are about the same price, I recommend the X-Pro 1 if you don't need every bit of extra speed and if you prefer to hold a slightly bigger and noticeably better build camera. Fujifilm has fixed most of the reported issues like slow AF with incremental updates. I got a chance to review it recently. What is the seemingly insurmountable problem with studying a traditional 35mm film rangefinder and re-engineering it into an equally capable digital rangefinder instead of trying to re-invent the wheel?
The idea that you cannot accurately use manual focus is absurd. The whole focusing by wire thing is absurd. Again, why is everyone trying to re-invent the wheel? After using one for a while and with the latest firmware I find the camera to be quite superb.

The latest firmware update as of May is version 3. Also check to see if your lenses are also up to date. Firstly I really would like to thank almost everyone for the generous and non combative input. So as long as I am curious about one further issue, any gracious input will be devoured with great enjoyment. Some lenses, whether short, medium or full on zooms have O. S and some don't.

The feature set on offer is comprehensive, but the lack of any meaningful documentation and occasionally incomprehensible menu options mean it can take a while to really feel comfortable and to find your way around.
