By the time we pay for this repair, we might as well have just bought a new set which is what we may end up doing instead of repair.

I would come down to find that my clothes were still very wet. I should have called about the problem but it would happen randomly and I would just pull them out to hang dry. After a year or so of the drainage problem, I started noticing that on some washes my clothes would smell bad.
Soon after that, I would hear the machine banging around in the basement. It sounded as if parts were loose on the inside and flinging all over the place. This seemed to cause a burning smell and sometimes would leave dark marks on my clothes. The machine has, since then, stopped working entirely. It fills with water and then eventually tries to drain everything out - unsuccessfully though, as there is a wretched smell coming from the inside now.
The bottom line: it seems like the machine definitely has some issues. Rated 3 out of 5 by Lower prices would help. I picked this up a week ago and needed a new bellow. I replaced that and turns out it needs a new outer tub that includes the Bearings.
I've had to replace the drum, the rubber boot, and now I have to replace the drain pump. Not to mention all the time I don't have washing machine. I also had a whirlpool fridge I had to replace in 7 years. I will never buy whirlpool again.
